Functions & Conferences

The Furzedown Hotel offers superb facilities for your private function whatever the occasion, be it a Luncheon, Dinner Dance, Wedding Reception, Family Celebration or Business Meeting.  We can seat up to 80 in comfort or if you prefer a buffet we can cater for up to 120.

In choosing the Furzedown you will be assured of a first-class service and excellent food.  We offer a wide selection of menus using only the finest, freshest meat, fish and vegetables available.  If you have any special dietary requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be glad to accommodate you with your request.

The Furzedown is renowned for the quality of its’ food and friendly family service which the Garrod family have been offering for over 60 years.  You can be assured that your reception is in experienced and capable hands and that we will be pleased to help you with your choice of wines, seating arrangements, disco or any special arrangements you may have.

The prices we quote are fully inclusive of VAT and there are no extra charges.  If you would like any further advice or cannot find what you are looking for we will be only too pleased to help and discuss and quote on any different or special menus you require.

Fish Main Courses

  • Grilled loin of cod topped with a parmesan herb crust
  • Deep-fried fillet of haddock served with hand-cut chips and mushy peas
  • Fillet of salmon served with a creamy hollandaise sauce
  • Salmon & Asparagus tart served with a tomato & basil sauce
  • Grilled wing of skate coated in a pink peppercorn butter

Meat & Poultry Main Courses

  • Supreme of chicken served with a blue cheese, bacon and leek sauce
  • Roast topside of beef served with roast potatoes & Yorkshire pudding
  • Slow roasted belly of pork served on a bed of creamy mashed potato and coated in an apple and wholegrain mustard sauce
  • Braised steak served on a bed of creamy mashed potato and served with a red wine and rosemary sauce
  • Roast breast of duck coated with a black cherry sauce
  • Loin of pork served with a pink peppercorn cream sauce
  • Steak & Ale pie served with rich ale gravy
  • Slow-cooked shank of lamb served on a bed of creamy mashed potato and minted gravy

Vegetarian Main Courses

  • Goat’s cheese, red onion and fig tart served with roast new potatoes and a light tomato concasse
  • Mushroom wellington served with vegetarian gravy
  • Feta cheese, spinach and walnut filo pastry pie
  • Homemade nut roast served with a tomato, garlic & onion sauce
